How do I use identifiers in the Admin Portal?

Identifiers can be specified in the ‘Add/Edit Answer Type’ form when adding answer types to questions and provide a quick and easy way to identify all completed checklists related to a certain answer.

Using identifiers

Identifiers can be specified in the ‘Add/Edit Answer Type’ form when adding answer types to questions and provide a quick and easy way to identify all completed checklists related to a certain answer.

If ticked, the answer to this question becomes the identifier for all completed checklists with this answer in common. There can only be one identifier per checklist. The identifier is visible as a filter and column in ‘Manage Completed Checklists - Completed Checklists’ and in the Mobile App as a ‘tag’ icon next to the Identifier question. There can only be one identifier per checklist so if you don’t see the option, an identifier may already have been chosen for that checklist.

Identifier fields in the ‘Add/Edit’ Answer Type’ form:

Identifier: This field provides a quick and easy way to identify all completed checklists related to a certain answer.

Question set identifier: Like ‘Identifier’ but for a question set. The option only shows up if the question set parent is repeatable and the identifier is one of the questions in the question set.

Identifier Example: If you have a checklist for the pre-trip inspection of a vehicle or postproduction quality control assessment of a product you have manufactured, the identifier could be the identity number (VIN) of the vehicle inspected or the serial number of the product manufactured. In this case, you would include a question: What is the vehicle’s VIN number? Or ‘Enter product serial number’ on your checklist and the answer to that question will then appear in the Identifier column in ‘Manage Completed Checklists - Completed Checklists’ and in the Mobile App as a ‘tag’ icon next to the Identifier question and provide a quick and easy way to search for all completed checklists related to a certain vehicle VIN or product serial number.
